Marble vix lay gazing upon the stars in the moonlit grassland. The gentle breeze danced with her silky fur. Red-brown optics glided over each shimmering sphere as the femme recalled the memory of her dearest brother. The she-fox had made a habit of thinking of him every night. The worst thing she could do would be to forget. The fem shivered at the thought of forgetting her Ayden before she returned her thoughts to the land she was in.
It was all so new. The vixen had just come from a forest to the far East. That place seemed like little compared to where she was now. The musk and aroma of other creatures, strange creatures she had never scented before, filled the air and drifted on the wind from lands far off. What were the sources of these odd scents, she wondered as she let her head fall back to stare over the horizon.

Clear blue orbits stared at the deep blue skies, the stars seemed like a detailed artists work molded to perfection, nothing tainted the beautiful painting before her eyes. Orbits swerved over to the great grassy plains that the wind toyed with, she smiled at the peace she found here. Maybe it is time I look for mother. This place...so peaceful... But...it would be too soon...there's still so much to discover. She saw the promise this land held, her jaw fell seeing the beauty; she sighed in admiration.
Her mocha hued bodice shined brightly with sweat from the mornings hot sun, the coolness the night offered felt good o her pelt. She felt energy culminating inside her. Suddenly she rose on her hinds, letting her charcoal legs strike the air a few times. Her tail flickered and she sprung in a gallop. She hadn't acted on impulse in a long time, and doing so now....felt....good.
She laughed suddenly, at the joy she thought she would never feel again. Giddily she ran up a slope, and bucked, her hinds really getting some air. Her nares flared, her mane tousled in the wind, she felt her tail rippling like a banner; a flag of a proud nation. She was happy...and for once, there was no one here to take that away from her. Drawing near the forestry of trees she decided to run more north-west, finding joy she felt in the powerful rumble her hooves made on the ground. I must look silly, she thought as she started to slow, a lone mare galloping around at night in a grassy plain. Very silly...
She subconsciously stopped before a furry thing. Nares flaring as she scented a predator, her senses telling her to run. Mentally she scolded herself for being so foolish. She should think things over more...!
But now, as she gazed more calmly at what was before her, her tension ceased to choke her as much. It doesn't move...maybe it's asleep...
She lowered her muzzle closer to the marble vix and pushed lightly. You awake?
Her body tensed as she waited, ready for a snap of the jaws or a lashing of claws. She was ready for what this thing had in store.
